Who Will Win The BET Awards 2021? Meet The Top Nominees!

Ever since the debut of the prestigious BET Awards ceremony in 2001, the most worthy African-American performers in the entertainment, sports, music, and movie industries have been receiving yearly rewards for their hard work, dedication, and talent. This year will mark the 20th awards show and it will be broadcast live on BET (Bet Entertainment Television). The highly anticipated event is expected to be even more special this year since it will mark the return of the culture’s most important night after last year’s pandemic version held online.

The amazing roster of talented nominees has been recently announced, and we cannot wait to see who will grab the most trophies. Whether you wish to be a part of the live event and sit in the audience, or you cannot wait to watch the televised ceremony, keep reading. We are going to reveal the freshest nominees for the hottest categories.

The voting started on June the 7th, and select members of the voting academy are now expected to express their options. Find out if they’ll be matching yours on the 21 categories meant to honour Black actors, performers, artists, and sportsmen.

Tune In On The 28th Of June For The BET Awards!

The ceremony will be, once again, aired live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, the 28th of June 2021, at 8 PM ET/ PT on BET. The show will also be broadcast in various other parts of the world, according to the following schedule:

  • a simulcast version of the show will air on BET Africa at 2 am CAT
  • tune in MTV Brazil starting 9 pm BRT on the 27of of June
  • go on MTV UK on the 28th of June 28th at 9 pm BST
  • tune in to BET France on the 29th of June 29th starting 8:45 pm CEST
  • visit My5 or Sky On-Demand if you live in the UK starting the 29th of June

If you’ve missed last year’s crazy show because of the COVID pandemic restrictions, and you are eager to join the enthusiastic crowd and watch all the action unfold in front of your eyes, register a request to be a part of the audience today.

As a side note, please keep in mind that only vaccinated individuals will be considered and accepted to be a part of the attending public. Go to the official BET Awards website and register your request there. BET will work hand in hand with the LA County to support the efforts to vaccinate the local community and make sure the event will fully adhere to all COVID-19 safety protocols. The press will have limited access to the live show and there will be no credential forms issued for this year’s event. This means that the members of the media will receive direct invitations to ad-hoc interviews on the red carpet. Virtual press opportunities are to be announced later on.

The List Of Nominees For The “BET AWARDS” 2021

The BET Awards acknowledge the incredible work and triumphs of African-American entertainers, sportsmen, and artists in 21 categories. The show continues to be of the highest anticipated award shows that gather a huge TV cable audience each year. Its franchise is the leading program in the entire history of all cable TV for African-Americans, and the show itself is BET’s number one telecast on a yearly basis.

Here are this year’s hot nominees:

Album of the Year Nominees

Nas, Chloe X Halle, Jazmine Sullivan, Megan Thee Stallion, Dababy, and The Weeknd and their incredible albums are all fighting for the prestigious Album of the Year award. Megan has received seven different nominations in seven categories, so we can expect her to scoop this one right up.

Best Collaboration Nominees

Megan and Cardi B’s Wap song has gathered over 7.7 million likes and it has been viewed by over 400 million people since its debut in August 2020. Dababy and Roddy Ricch’s Rockstar recorded over 305 million views and 2.6 million likes since its release in April 2020.

DJ Khaled feat Drake – Popstar starring Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber in the official music video gathered 204 million views and 3.4 million likes since the September 2020 release. Drake is not only one of the most beloved artists on the planet, with a whopping net worth of $150, ranking 5th in the richest rappers’ ranking of 2019, but he is also well-known for his passion for gambling and sports betting. Alongside other business investments, Drake has recently invested $3 million in an eSports betting startup company Players’ Lounge. Since the company is still new, we will have to wait to see whether it will be able to compete with big players in online sports betting, such as Sportingbet or 1xBet.

What’s Poppin by Jack Harlow, Dababy, Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne is another big 2020 collab nominated for the Best Collaboration award, along with Dababy and Megan Thee Stallion’s Cry Baby and Pop Smoke, Lil Baby, and Dababy’s For The Night hits.

Best Female R&B/Pop Artist

H.E.R. Beyonce, Jhene Aiko, Sza, Jazmine Sullivan, and Summer Walker are nominated for the Best Female R&B/Pop artist award.

Best Male R&B/Pop Artist

Tank, Chris Brown, 6Lack, The Weeknd, Giveon, and Anderson .Paak are nominated for the Best Make R&B award.

Best New Artist

Latto, Pook Shiesty, Giveon, Flo Milli, Coi Leray, and Lack Harlow are nominated for the Best New Artist award.

Best Group Award

City Girls, Chloe x Halle, 21 Savage & Metro Boomin, Chris Brown & Young Thung, Migos, and Silk Sonic are nominated for Best Group.

Best Female Hip Hop Artist

Cardi B, Coi Leray, Latto, Saweetie, Doja Cat, and Megan Thee Stallion are the big nominees for the Best Female Hip Hop Artist Award.

Best Male Hip Hop Artist

Drake, Dababy, Lil Baby, Pop Smoke, J. Cole, and Jack Harlow are the candidates for the Best Male Hip Hop Artist Award.
