American rapper and producer, Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent, has announced plans to release a movie series on convicted Nigerian internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas Igbalode alias Hushpuppi.
The rapper has made this known in an Instagram post on Wednesday, November 9 while attaching pictures of the internet celebrity writing;
“For my scammers I gotta do this one, Hushpuppi series coming soon”

Meanwhile, Hushpuppi was arrested in Dubai in 2020 for swindling over 1.9 million people and he was extradited to the United States for trial. On Monday, the court sentenced Abbas to 11 years and 3 months in federal prison for fraud. The social media personality is to pay $1.7m in restitution to two victims.
However, the United States, in a statement issued by the court, stated that Abbas had bragged on social media about his lavish lifestyle; a lifestyle funded by his involvement in transnational fraud and money laundering conspiracies targeting victims around the world.
“This significant sentence is the result of years’ worth of collaboration among law enforcement in multiple countries and should send a clear warning to international fraudsters that the FBI will seek justice for victims, regardless of whether criminals operate within or outside United States borders.”
Hushpuppi pleaded guilty in July 2021 and identified Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, as an accomplice in a $1.1 million scam.
Prior to 50 Cent‘s news, Universal Pictures, Will Packer Productions, and Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife acquired the rights to Bloomberg article “The Fall of the Billionaire Gucci Master”, about the Instagram influencer, Hushpuppi in 2021. This move got mostly negative reactions from Nigerians.
Many await the release of this Tv series as they expect it to convey all of Hushpuppi’s experiences and dealings. The American rapper is yet to lay any other statement as regards his recent announcement on social media, but the news seems to have every netizen all fired up in anticipation of the series.
