On Tuesday, 21st March 2023, chart news platform, Chart Data reported that Nigerian superstar Rema has made history with his international hit single, ‘Calm Down’ remix featuring Selena Gomez, after it appeared at NO. 8 on the latest Billboard Hot 100.

‘Calm Down’ has now surpassed Wizkid‘s, ‘Essence’ remix featuring Tems and Justin Bieber as the highest charting African song on Billboard Hot 100 as it continues to make its mark as one of the biggest crossover Afrobeats song in history.
Speaking on the latest achievement, Rema put up a tweet expressing his gratitude to God, and how hard he has worked to push his sound to the world.

Furthermore, ‘Calm Down’ is the most-watched Nigerian music video on YouTube as it has surpassed over 400 million views. It has also surpassed over a billion streams across all platforms.
In addition, the single has also earned Rema its first RIAA platinum plaque and the remix is expected to clock over 2 million units in sale in the coming weeks.
