Nigerian musician, Suliyat Modasola, popularly known as Liya, has revealed that she has parted ways with Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).
The 23-year-old songstress made the disclosure during a Q&A session with fans on her Instagram page.
A curious fan asked if she was still associated with DMW, and in response, Liya wrote; ‘Nopee’, indicating that she is no longer part of the DMW label.
However, the ‘Melo’ crooner assured her fans that she remains loyal to the 30 Billion Gang (30BG), which is what OBO’s fanbase is known as.
The fan wrote, “Are you still in DMW?,” while Liya replied, “Nopee, But #30bg for lifee.”
Recall that in October 2020, Davido officially signed Liya as the first female artiste under his imprint Davido Music Worldwide. The artiste met the ‘FEM’ crooner in the club through Peruzzi.
Her signing was an important milestone as she became the first female artist to be signed by Davido to his label, earning her the title of “First Lady” of DMW.
While her official status with DMW may have changed, Liya’s undeniable talent and strong connection to the DMW family promise an exciting future for this talented artist in the Nigerian music scene.
