Kenyan singer, Victoria Kimani has stated that she is not happy with Beyoncé’s choice of featured artistes in her new ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ album.Kimani made this known in a series of tweets via her Twitter handle; @Victoria Kimani on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

According to her, the album should have featured some Kenyan artistes because ‘The Lion King’ the movie was set in Kenya.
Furthermore, she stated that it was depressing that other African artists except Kenyans, got the opportunity to feature on the album.
She tweeted: “Rafiki, Simba & Nala ARE KENYAN.
“Ya’lll coulda at least had Lupita or Barack on the outro since we don’t have artists in East Africa.
“As much as we celebrate with our fellow Africans …. The obvious exclusion of Kenyans / East Africans on this Soundtrack is Depressing…. The movie was based on KENYA.
“That’s fine. Our Queen forgot about US. WE were not represented in her love letter to us. It hurts. That’s all .”
In related news, the album features West African artists; Tekno, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi,and South African musicians; Busiswa, Shatta Wale and Moonchild sanely.
