Nigerian legendary hip-hop, R&B and Afrobeat artist, songwriter-singer, Eedris Abdulkareem delivered a new single, ‘Emilokan’ concerning the current political and economic situation in his country.
The much anticipated single comes with a narrative visual or audiovisual buffet per se, which sees Eedris pouring out his, pains and concerns following the recent inflation, political happenings, and alarming economic hikes in Nigeria.
In the new single, the ‘Nigeria Jaga Jaga‘ crooner calls out Pastor Adeboye, President Tinubu, ex-President Buhari, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and ex-CBN governor Emefiele in his new song, ‘Emilokan.’
Upon delivering the masterpiece and message-passing record he assured Nigerians, ‘Together we can make Nigeria a Better Nation for us all!!!’
Quite literally, ‘emi l’okan’ in the Yoruba language translates as ‘it is my turn’. It is neither a plea nor a bargain; it is a stake on a claim not given to negotiations. It is throwing down the gauntlet and challenging any objector to a duel. It is a readiness and an invitation to settle the score without further ado. In short, it is saying now or never. It is partly bravery, and partly bravado, but there is no mistaking the intention.
