DJ Tunez and Terry Apala have officially reunited to deliver another cultural masterpiece with “Apala Groove.”
The track serves as a monumental celebration of Nigeria’s Independence Day, seamlessly bridging the gap between traditional Yoruba heritage and modern global club sounds.
Produced collaboratively by DJ Tunez and THE6ERZ, the single offers an innovative sonic blueprint that breathes fresh life into a classic indigenous genre.
The record serves as a spiritual successor to their massive hit “Apala Disco“. Their previous collaboration laid the groundwork for integrating traditional elements into commercial spaces.
Terry Apala commands the track with his signature gravelly vocals, complex Yoruba phrasing, and rapid-fire percussive cadence.
His performance honours the legendary sound of historical Apala icons while maintaining the high-energy charisma required for contemporary radio waves.
The track is an infectious, dance floor-ready bounce that lets Terry Apala’s distinctive voice take centre stage without being overpowered by the production.
In addition, the song is “Apala Groove,” taken from DJ Tunez’s forthcoming project, “In Tunez We Trust Vol. 1.”
