Rihanna sues dad for exploiting brand name “Fenty”

Award winning American singer, Rihanna has filed a lawsuit against her dad, Ronaldo Fenty for allegedly using her name to solicit millions in investment.

The lawsuit which was filled today January 15, in a California federal court and obtained by TMZ.Β Rihanna alleges her father, and another man, named Moses Perkins started an entertainment company in 2017 called “Fenty Entertainment” soliciting business and acting as representative to the singer.

However, Riri has a business of her own named “Fenty Beauty” (which produces make up and facial products) which has already been trademarked.

She claims her father tried to book her for 15 shows in Latin America in December 2017 for $15 million, 2 concerts at Staples Center in Los Angeles and T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for $400,000 without her consent.

Additionally, in 2018 her dad, tried to trademark “Fenty” to use in connection with resort hotels but he was unsuccessful.

Rihanna has sent multiple cease and desist letters to her dad and his partner, but they have ignored them. She is now seeking damages and wants an injunction against her father.
