Meek Mill Pulls Down Controversial Jubilee House Video, Shares His Apology

American rapper, Meek Mill has apologized for secretly filming a video showcasing several frames of the Ghanaian presidential villa.

The video featured the rapper singing in the palace’s corridors and halls were blasted for creating a potential security risk. Mill travelled to Ghana last month after learning he is part Ghanaian.

During his time in Ghana, Meek Mill visited the presidential villa where he met with the Ghanaian president, Nana Akufo-Addo. During his visit, he shot some scenes inside the presidential palace, and these scenes were featured in his promotional video.

After suffering a hefty reaction from the lots, the rapper has pulled down the video on his socials. He took to Twitter with an apology, writing:

“To the people of Ghana no video I drop is ever meant to disrespect the people of Ghana …. The fastest way to make connection is thru music and I wanted to do that with displaying art … im in my 30’s from America and didn’t know much about the lifestyle here.”

He further admitted that officials for Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo, were not aware that he was filming.

According to him, his action was inspired by his desire to appreciate the Ghanaian culture.
