Chelsea FC has officially agreed and confirmed to replace Mauricio Pochettino with Enzo Maresca on a long-term contract.
The 44-year-old Italian is leaving Leicester after leading them to promotion to the Premier League by winning the Championship.
The success of this revelation was aided when Chelsea co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart travelled to Marbella for a face-to-face chat with Maresca after Leicester gave permission for discussions to commence.
The Blues spotted Maresca’s obsession with possession and positional play which made him a better option for them. The 44-year-old will be on the touchline when the Blues head to the United States for their pre-season tour, with games against Wrexham, Celtic, Club America, Man City and Real Madrid already already fixed.
Maresca has worked as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City and stuck to a similar tactical blueprint to his old mentor with the Foxes, who finished their Championship campaign with a whopping 97 points.
Following this success we believe, the 2024/2025 English Premier League Season will be a great one for Chelsea following their latest achievement.
