The 18th Edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards came to a glamorous close with an anticipated awards gala night.
The award’s 18th edition was hosted in Lagos, Nigeria for the second year in a row and ended on Sunday, October 30, with its most anticipated awards gala night.

Meanwhile, the show headlined by legendary King Sunny Ade and music duo P-square was hosted by Funnybone, Chigul and Kachi Offia. It ended with a historic win as Nigeria led with eight awards alongside Tanzania and South Africa following with four awards respectively.
Furthermore, Tanzania’s ‘Tug of War’ won the award for Best Film and three additional awards which earns it the biggest win of the night alongside South Africa’s ‘Surviving Gaza’, also with four awards.
Also, Ghana’s ‘Borga’ follows closely with three awards. For Nigeria, Bolanle Austen Peters’ ‘Man Of God’ snags two awards while Kunle Afolayan took home two awards for his 2021 Netflix adaptation ‘Swallow’.
