Hilda Baci Breaks Down In Tears After Guinness World Records Certification

Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, has reacted to Guinness World Record’s confirmation as the world record holder for the longest cooking time by an individual.

The Guinness World Records, in a statement on its website on Tuesday, 13th June, 2023, announced that the 26-year-old chef successfully broke the record with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

“Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.” The statement read in part.

Following the announcement, Hilda Baci, in a video on her Instagram story, was seen shedding tears of joy as she expressed gratitude to God for the new achievement.

An emotional Hilda, who was in a car when she received the news, burst into tears as she went on to pray and thank God that her hard work paid off, and all her effort was not in vain.

Meanwhile, Hilda has surpassed the previous record held by Indian chef, Lata Tondon, who cooked for 87 hours and 45 minutes.
