Ne-Yo  will be performing at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs).

The American singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actor will be gracing the award ceremony for the first time ever with a performance.

MTV Africa broke the news on their twitter account with a tweet which read, “Grammy Award winning R&B icon NeYoCompound has today been confirmed to perform at theMTVMAMA2015 !!!!!!!”

Ne-Yo is currently enjoying success from and promoting his 2015 album, Non-Fiction, which he released on January 27.

First staged in 2008, the MTV Africa Music Awards has recognised the talent of musicians, achievers and personalities from across Africa, rewarding iconic artists and gamechangers.

This year. Wizkid, Olamide, Seyi Shay, Phyno and a number of Nigerian artistes have been nominated for various awards.

The ceremony has not been without controversy, as Burna Boy and friend, AKA have voiced their displeasure over their nominations (and lack of it).

The MAMA will be held at the  Durban International Convention Centre (ICC), KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
