Nigerians street-pop sensation, Shallipopi, has made his first debut on the Billboard Afrobeats Songs Chart with his single, ‘Ex Convict’.
In the latest issue of the Billboard Afrobeats Songs Chart, dated for release on July 22, 2023, the Nigerian artist hits Billboard’s charts for the first time since his breakout into the mainstream.
The single debuts at spot NO. 26 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
Shallipopi released his debut single, ‘Gra Gra’, in 2021, and followed with five more releases before dropping his debut EP, ‘Planet Pluto’, on July 10, 2023.
The fast-rising star has also released two remixes of his breakout song, ‘Elon Musk,’ with Fireboy DML and Zlatan Ibile.
Other artists who also make an appearance on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs Chart are King Promise with his hit single, ‘Terminator’, which debuts at NO. 44, and Rema‘s, ‘Calm Down’ also extends its record at the top 46 weeks as it continues to make the summit of the chart its permanent abode.
