Chelsea spent over £75 million on agents’ and intermediaries’ fees for player transfers, according to information released by the Football Association on Friday.
This data covers the 12 months leading up to February 1, 2024. The total amount spent on agents’ fees by Premier League clubs was £409.59 million, which is a significant increase from last year’s £318.2 million.
Chelsea topped the list, having paid £75,140,524 in fees for players such as Moises Caicedo, Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia, Nicolas Jackson, and Cole Palmer.
Even with the expensive signings, Mauricio Pochettino’s team has had an inconsistent season in the Premier League and lost the League Cup final to Liverpool.
Manchester City was the highest spender on agents’ fees in the previous year, but they have now slipped to second place, having spent £60.63 million.
Manchester United spent £34.05 million, while Liverpool paid £31.50 million, and Arsenal’s outlay reached £24.76 million. Luton, who made it to the Premier League through the playoffs last year, spent the least, at £2.02 million.
