South African songstress Tyla has released her second studio album, “A*POP,” comprising 14 tracks.
The album “A*POP” features guest appearances from Babalwa M, MaWhoo, Liquideep, and Zara Larsson.
The album’s title itself hints at its ambition, a fusion of “Amapiano” and “pop,” a declaration of intent that this is a record situated at the crossroads of genres, cultures, and continents.
Tyla crafts a project that both honours her roots and pushes the boundaries of what pop music can sound like in the 2020s.
Tyla’s songwriting is universal, with lyrics that speak to the experience of finding one’s place in the world while navigating relationships and ambition.
Tyla collaborated with various producers on the album, including Akeel Henry, Ari PenSmith, Believve, Cole Ostrin, Ian Kirkpatrick, Sammy Soso, and P2J.
The album’s message is clear: African music is not just a regional phenomenon, but a driving force shaping the sound of the future.
Tyla announced that she would be embarking on the A*POP World Tour, which will visit Africa, Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The tour will feature 34 dates, taking place between October 2026 and January 2027.
